Private Sessions

These sessions are available for anyone wanting tailored classes to meet your specific needs. There may be aspects of Aikido you wish to learn or perhaps you have an interest in weapons or club swinging.

Whatever your needs are, we can discuss this in depth to produce a programme to suit your requirements.

Taijutsu

This class is focused on Taijutsu (body techniques) which form part of the Takemusu Aikido syllabus.

Taijutsu encompasses a range of unarmed techniques, based on knife attacks and other weapon disarms. These fundamental skills and body movements provide a good foundation for weapon based martial arts.

Weapons Training

This is a mixed weapons class, based in Kenjutsu (art of the sword) and Jojutsu (art of the staff).

Rooted in Takemusu Aikido principles, these sessions also draw inspiration from HEMA, Gekiken and Krabi Krabong, focusing on the connection to a weapon and the applied use of the sword and staff in combat.

Functional Fitness

This class is supplementary to weapons training and focuses on the union between a weapon (or object) and ones own body movement.

The system utilises clubs and range of weapons to produce flowing geometric patterns through natural movement. This helps to improve mobility and provides a deeper understanding into body mechanics.

“Running water never goes stale, so just keep on flowing.”
